This was a bookshelf project found online I undertook as a baby shower gift for my best friends future son. This photo served as the inspiration for his Doctor Seuss & Cat in the Hat themed room.
The front and back of the bookshelf was made of 1/2" plywood. I wanted to give my case more shelf space then the inspirational picture, and give it a more conventional shape.
After adding in the side supports and shelves the case began to take shape.
To keep the books and other things on the shelves I added in some flexible plastic side pieces that would flex with the curves of the side. I also added in some wood filler and sanded where needed, to ensure a smooth and finished shelf texture.
The bookcase was finished with a coat of red spray paint to ensure the bright colors would pop in the room
He wasn't too fussy, at least about the finished product.
